1. Quick weight loss fad diets expect you to restrict or do away with a certain type of food. Examples are Low Carb Diets or the High Protein Atkins diet, which if followed over a period of time, will starve the body of much needed nutrients. It is necessary to keep a balanced diet of ‘Good Carbohydrates’, Protein and ‘good fats’, to ensure you body doe not suffer nutritional deficiencies and maximizes the weight loss benefits. Some diets suggest taking supplements, like fat burning tablets, but these are unnecessary and usually do not get properly absorbed by the body.

2. After a couple of days on a Quick weight loss Fad diet, people tend to get bored with the same restrictive foods. You body then starts to crave other food constantly. This will eventually become a diet ‘buster’ and you will end you giving up. You will only end up blaming yourself for no self-confidence or will power. Don’t beat yourself up about it, find a diet plan that works for you, don’t give up.

 3. Many fad diets recommend that you should only follow the diet for a short time. But you probably won’t have met your weight loss goals by this stage of the plan. So what do you do then? You can continue with the unhealthy diet plan, or stop dieting altogether and put the weight back on. Studies have shown that some fad diets are recommending high fat foods and low carbohydrates, which when taken over a long period for time can cause heart disease. These diets do not take into account the recommendations of the (AHA) American Heart Association and other similar bodies who warn of high fat levels in the diet.

4. A good diet will have a healthy serving of fruits and vegetables, but many fad diets do not incorporate any or enough servings into their weight loss program. Another problem is the lack of variety of food that is incorporated into the diet programs.

5. If it is permanent weight loss that you are looking for, then avoid the Quick weight loss fad diets, as they are very much a temporary solution. For permanent weight loss you need to change your eating habits long term, to maintain your target weight or reduce you weight to reach you weight loss goals. Fad diets have been proven to only create false weight loss, so your weight tends to go up and down (yo-yo like), and this is not good for your health.

Remember, ignore the fad advertising hype, as it will not help you long term. The best weight loss programs are those who advocate a permanent weight loss solution and this should include a structured and varied healthy balanced diet. So do not over eat, exercise regularly and avoid fad diets.
